Mimosa Manor

Recently attended a wedding here and while they most certainly do have a nice place and most of the staff was nice, the woman running the event was not. She was very unprofessional and did not help keep things on time. She spent most of the evening talking about the family to the guests - who by the way were close friends and family. So of course they are not going to appreciate her comments. She was even rude to the preacher. Due to the weather the wedding had to be brought inside. Thankfully there wasn't more people there. The house is big, but not that big. There's not a room big enough for everyone to be in together. Even though the a/c was on, it was hot in there. If you have a small event and the weather is good to stay outside - maybe it'd be ok. The countless e-mails and drama back and forth between the owner and the wedding couple/mother of the bride just put a dark shadow over the event. I personally wouldn't recommend it.

Attended a wedding reception at Mimosa Manor and was appalled to find out that this facility, that the public can rent as a venue, is not wheelchair accessible. I understand that this is a law in Alabama, so it needs to be enforced. Also, not to mention that there was a hole in one of the outside steps going into the home. The event was in the summer but the owners did not run the a/c. Instead, windows were opened and the guests were extremely hot and uncomfortable. I understand from the family of the bride the use of a/c was in the contract for the use of the facility.. Mimosa Manor could be an excellent venue for the people of Prattville to rent if it were run more efficiently.

We contracted Mimosa Manor for our daughter's reception last summer. We were treated unprofessionally by the owner and she was rude to our caterer, photographer, and several of our guests. The days following the event, I discussed our concerns and dissatisfactions with the owner and there were many. Since I had expressed my dissatisfactions to her, I decided I would take the high road and not rate the venue online. However, it has recently been brought to my attention that Mrs. Larsen has made several untrue statements in a response post about me and my family. She insists that we told her we were only expecting 100 guests but in fact, had told her we were sending out over 275 invitations. The caterer was prepared for 200 guests so where did she come up with 100? Perhaps it was because she interrupted us the entire time we were making plans. She wouldn't listen to what we wanted and were saying as the paying customers. Also, the a/c was turned off and windows were opened during the reception even though she had assured us it would be on and that they had a new a/c unit. It was extremely uncomfortable for our guests! The fact that the 2 owners rated their own venue separately in an attempt to improve their overall rating speaks volumes! It could be such a nice venue for the city of Prattville if it were run professionally and respectfully for the customers.

Hosts were very poor. Don't go here, please stay away for your own benefit. They fought the bride and groom on everything, they blamed us for stuff we didn't do, and they were all around rude, the owner Janet Larson physically pushed the grooms mother out of a room because it was "hot with the door open" and didn't bother to say anything, and she verbally abused the bride's mother. Save your money and find a better location.

Attended a wedding recently only to discover later we were all being accused of stealing. Won by go into details but wedding was a nightmare. Even after being told repeatedly it was gonna rain they didn't move inside until an hour after the wedding was scheduled to begin. The boss lady seemed very rude and unsociable other than when she talked about the family to the guests. Dumb...we all knew each other!!!

I’m here to tell anyone who has an event coming up need to consider Mimosa Manor. I have been there on several occasions it’s a wonderful place. I would like to think Mrs. Janet and her husband for everything.

Absolutely gorgeous property and venue. when you pull down the drive way its like you are looking at 19th century Alabama. Great location and wonderful people!
