Washington County Public Library

We visited the Washington County Public Library located at 14102 St Stephens Avenue in Chatom, Alabama. While there, the staff helped us look up some history of the area and the people who lived there. The staff were very friendly and very helpful. We were presented with a book titled The History of Washington County, written by the Washington County Historical Society. During our visit, I saw an old Edison phonograph. I was fascinated by this and a lady who worked there let me take a closer look. Thomas Edison first invented the phonograph in 1877, and since then, as his invention evolved, it has been known as a gramophone, a record player, and more recently, it’s called a turntable. It was a really neat piece of history. I recommend the Washington County Public Library.

The Washington Co. Library is an asset to the community. Wonderful learning area for children, very nice conference room, new computers, free WiFi, beautiful courtyard and helpful library employees.

If you need information, print, or looking for for some good reading, this is the place. If you need help finding anything or help with printing there is always friendly service. Highly recommend. Plenty of parking

The outside movie night was great,but oh so cold. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Looking forward to possibly another movie night soon. May have to wait until it gets a little warmer though. The Grandkids enjoyed it as well.

There is a large bank of computers available to the public. They are up to date and easy to use. There is also friendly helpful staff to assist you with any questions you may have. I get copies made and send faxes from here frequently. A selection of current best seller books and books on cd.

I love that WCPL has 24-hr.-Wi-Fi! It is just a pity that you have to sit outside to use it. I wish they would follow Citronelle Library's social distancing access policy.
